Get 5 Points Per Dollar On Food Delivery With Your Chase Card

You might not be able to dine out at restaurants right now, but many of your favorite local eateries will deliver to your door through delivery apps, and Chase just made supporting them even more rewarding.

The Discoverer has partnered with The Points Guy affiliate network for our coverage of credit card products. The Discoverer and The Points Guy may receive a commission from card issuers. The offers mentioned below are subject to change at any time and some may no longer be available.

From now until the end of May, if you use your Chase Sapphire Preferred card, a Chase Sapphire Reserve, or the no-annual-fee Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Unlimited to pay for food through DoorDash or Tock (a reservation and delivery service that specializes in high-end restaurants), you'll earn 5% cash back, or 5 points back per dollar.

The promotion is limited to your first $500 in purchases combined between the two services, meaning you could earn 2,500 points, or $25 in cash back, depending on the card you use. As we've covered in our Chase Ultimate Rewards guide though, if you have a Sapphire card that earns Ultimate Rewards Points, those 2,500 points would be worth about $50 in future travel.

In addition, most Chase cardholders can get free access to DoorDash's Dash Pass through the DoorDash app, which waives delivery fees for a variety of restaurants. Sapphire Reserve cardholders get a minimum of two years of Dash Pass, in addition to annual $60 dining credits in 2020 and 2021. Sapphire Preferred cardholders can enjoy a minimum of one year of DashPass, and Freedom and Freedom Unlimited cardholders can activate three free months.

The 5% back offer isn't a life-changing promotion, but it's certainly of-the-moment, and as we've stated here before, now is a great time to stockpile as many points as you can, so you can splurge on a great trip once you're able to travel again.
