7 Epic Adventures You Have to Try Once

There are two types of people in the world - the adventure seekers and the not-so adventure seekers. Whether you identify more with one or the other, that won’t excuse you from this list! We all have our bucket lists - our dream activities we want to try someday. But most of the time, we never actually make it around to checking those off our list. So we’ve compiled a short list of some of those epic adventures to sign up for now, and get you on your adrenaline-filled way!

White-Water-Raft-1

White Water Rafting

White water rafting comes in all shapes and forms. If you're more cautious, you can take a quick 1-hour tour testing easy, class 1 rapids. But if you want something more thrilling, joing a week-long camping trip extravaganza cruising down the Colorado River, hitting class 4 rapids like nobody's business. Whichever you choose, make sure you are wearing a helmet, a life vest, and leave the poncho at home because you will get wet.

Canyon-Swing-1

Canyon Swinging

Have you ever been to an amusement park and seen one of those giant arches with a swing attached that drops people through the sky and looks terrifying? Well, canyon swinging is the same idea, but about 10 times more intense. Similar to bungee jumping, canyon swinging is simply that - swinging through a canyon. If the idea is too scary to think about, just imagine you’re Spiderman taking a Sunday swing. That should do the trick.

Skydiving

This one is an absolute must-do no matter who you are, where you come from, or what your horoscope is. Skydiving is like no other experience and a few of our Discoverer team members can attest to it. “Skydiving really isn’t as scary as you’d think. Don’t get me wrong, your nerves are up, but once you get up in that plane it’s almost as if it isn’t real - it looks like a virtual reality video game! I loved it so much, I did it twice in one day!” - @dillonkennethhogan, The Discoverer Social Media Coordinator

Zip-Line-2

Ziplining

Ziplining is definitely one for the books, and can be a bit tamer for people who aren't quite ready to jump out of a plane. Get your Tarzan fantasy on and fly through the trees with the whole family! You can find ziplining virtually anywhere that has hills or mountains, but we suggest doing it through tropical climates - it just adds another element that you can’t get anywhere else!

Scuba-1

Scuba Diving

Exploring the deep and vast underwater world via scuba diving is an experience everyone should do at least once. The process to be scuba certified is a lengthy one but the rewards are worth it! If you don’t have the time (or patience) to go through the certification process, grab some goggles and get to snorkeling! Though it might not be the same, don't miss out on the world under the sea.

Hang-Glide-1

Hang Gliding

Have you ever just seen a kite and thought, “I want to be that kite”? Well, here’s your opportunity! Become a human kite by running off a cliff or mountain side and soaring like the bald eagle you were born to be! We suggest hang gliding in the Swiss Alps where the views are unbelievable!

Bungee-1

Bungee Jumping

We saved the most epic for last! This one takes the cake as the most blood-curdling and adrenaline-pinching activity on the list. And it is the simplest one - just jump off a bridge. Sounds easy, right? If you can master the fear of the drop you will come out of this a whole new person. Only a few dare to try, are you one of them?
